I used to volunteer at the animal shelter, a long time ago, way before I figured out I was a woman.

There were dogs that had “reactive to men” on their cages. I’d still approach em, hang out in the cage, take em for walks. I always laughed that they accepted me and not “other men” but now I gotta wonder if they didn’t just know before I did lol. Apparently, they really were aggressive against men and would nip or back (or bite yikes) it wasn’t just because.

Cats get a bad rap for being selfish, but my disabled mother in law has had our cats pull her out of seizures and sleep paralysis dozens of times. They usually start circling before it even happens too

people who say that have either never owned a cat or never truly tried to bond with theirs. my cat rubs on me and purrs when i’m crying, guards the bathroom door when i’m taking a shit, and freaks out meowing and scratching on the door like i’m drowning when i shower

she also has full on separation anxiety from me even though my mom’s the one who feeds her and stuff. the first couple weeks i was away for college she got depressed and full on neglected herself, not eating as much and looking mangy because she barely groomed herself. last time she heard my voice over the phone she meowed and searched the house all confused :/
