It’s my main weapon and I love it. With the right stats it hits like a truck and the charged magic attack has good range. I haven’t started Shadow yet but for NG it wrecks at +10 and I Lurve it. I have a cold spellsword build and it synergizes very well with the other cold magics. You can use to conserve FP while dealing with trash then whip out Adula’s sword sorcery when you’re ready to cause problems.

You should definitely consider having a small handful of weapons you can swap out for different situations, but yeah, Miyazaki is kinda notorious for doting on heavy weapon builds, and the Darkmoon Greatsword is basically always the best one, or close to it. Learn the moveset and make good use of the weapon art, and you’re gonna have a great time.

It won’t be fast enough the dlc bosses are cracked out of their god damned mind and have tiny punishable windows. Currently I’m holding moonveil, moonlight and inseparable sword for the holy damage as there’s lots of undead in the dlc. Off handing some support and offensive faith spells also.

I got through pretty much the entire base game with moonlight and only really struggled on elden beast where i needed to use the moonveil at the time to get a stagger on it cos otherwise i was just running after it.

Dlc though every boss is basically malenia on crack. If you summon or use mimic its doable with moonlight though depends on how you want to play.

Agreed. Using an inefficient (but very fun) build right now, Sacred Smithscript Hammer and Flaming Leafarts, I barely have time for the hammer in boss fights, despite the considerable damage it does. I’m probably halfway through and the only boss I’ve done with slow weapons has been Messmer since he has very clear windows of opportunity. Anyone else, I’ve done in with dryleaf. My spells have also been relegated to buffs only.
