Communists need to start a real peace movement like before.

The Soviet Union and the communist parties led the movement for peace. We need to do the same. We need to revive it, imho. And take it to new heights.

Oh if that’s what you mean, then fine. I’m just saying that Americans are dirt-poor. Hell, I certainly live in a neighborhood that’s poor.

                Not necessarily.

Americans have the highest incarceration rate. Drive anywhere in the South and Midwest and you’ll see lots of poverty. Also, compared to the rest of the world, Americans are little better off. For example, if you do not compare wages wages between, the buying power isn’t much. Neither is the value of what you own. Fox News may think that “poor people have a phone” and therefore they’re better off, but in reality, we need phones and certain “luxury devices.”

Also, the proletariat has been demanding peace through many activist and organizations; but they’re not focused on by the mainstream media. That’s why you don’t know about 'em.

              Americans

the problem is you’re judging from your own limited and poor experience. Not all Americans are poor. Some are so filthy fucking rich it’s sickening. You could rightfully say MORE americans are dirt poor than in the 50s, but even if you just go back to the 20s you’ll see that the proportion of people living in abject poverty today is lower.

doesn’t make it good, doesn’t make it OK, but the new deal helped a bunch of people really leave living-in-dirt-shacks poverty to upgrade to filthy tenements and projects in the cities. there they have power, water, and indoor plumbing.

Now, go over to mother russia and check out Moscow - same thing. Poor people here and there, but most everyone’s living indoors and shits in a toilet. Then drive 3 hours outside the capitol: you’ll find people shitting in holes in 2023. Say what you will about socialism vs capitalism, at least the poor in the US got mostly upgraded from that level of depravity. NOT IN ANY WAY WILLINGLY BY THE CAPITALISTS, but yeah, it did happen.
