Good news (she said cautiously) after being very wobbly and actually wanting food but refusing everything, Sammi actually got back on the bed and had a nap, then after giving me some purrs and snuggles, she was much steadier when she got down and ate with appetite. Not the normal amount but she gave it a good go.
I’m much more hopeful now - earlier on I thought I was going to have to phone the vet tomorrow and have the ‘is it time?’ talk.
    Crossing fingers for continued improvement!

Don’t be tricked the illusion of Melbourne’s “fools Spring”. There will be a cold snap back at some point.

First rule of Melbourne clothes wearing. You can put your summer gear away in winter, but you NEVER put your winter gear away in summer. I learned that one many many moons ago. Hasn’t failed me yet.

Tomorrow evening is going to be an absolute doozy apparently. Cold front coming through so stormy and very windy. With showers to follow on Monday. I pity anyone planning on going to the football.

The Doggies and GWS game is going to be interesting.

It’s in Ballarat and the weather is meant to be the worst of the worst tomorrow for that game.

Apparently this also applies the blankets.

The light one is back on again right now.

I downloaded the Inspector Gadget cartoon thinking it’d be great to watch.

Except I didn’t realise that if you had a crummy youth, nostalgia just brings back all the fear you used to feel.

No more nostalgic stuff from childhood for me. Never occurred to me before that this is something that might happen.

Gratefully, that time is long ago now.

It’s amazing how triggers can lurk for decades totally unknown to you that they even exist, until one day they happen. Stressful childhoods are a life long affliction. I’m envious of people who had pleasant childhoods. It’s a life cheat code.

It shouldn’t be a privilege to have a childhood you need to recover from, but it is.

Yeah I honestly didn’t think about it. That a show from when I was a kid would bring up a bunch of shit.

Can only make good memories now and moving forward. That’s the way I see it.

It used to be that people had holidays in Australia and notably mostly within their own state as travel was too expensive.

Now holidays within Australia are too expensive so people go overseas.

What a beautiful day. I bought another backpack. Got trapped in the car listening to modern music which felt like hours but infact was only 40 minutes.

Felt gross so I’m hydrating like a mofo today. I think maybe that was the issue.

No adventures for me this weekend either. Staying put and keeping it really low key. Trying not to get too much in my own head about things progressing. I’m scared but also excited. I’ve spent so much time on my own for way too long that I just hope I can come back from it without being a weirdo… well, the weird kind of weirdo anyway I’ve always been a goofy weirdo.

I regret to say that film was absolutely not worth going out for and I wish I’d stayed home and gone to bed earlier. Oh well. At least it was a direct tram to and fro and no traffic on the way back. Almost home. Some buscopan and chamomile tea and bed asap. Goodnight.

I used to love sleeping with my arm giving me support underneath my head and neck but my shoulder just won’t tolerate it anymore.

Same!! My shoulder really started acting up last year and I only got some relief when I was housesitting for someone and used one of those memory foam pillow things. I bought one for myself and it seems to have done the trick. I’d been sleeping with my arm under my head since I was a kid.
