  • I fail to understand your rationale for the statement that “DeSantis needs to explain why Florida still uses voting machines” when with the use of voting machines DeSantis achieved a victory of some 19% in the last election and there is a solid Republican majority in the Florida legislature. Also, why should we believe that wide-spread election fraud utilizing voting machines is an established fact when Fox News paid $787 million to Dominion Voting Systems to settle its defamation lawsuit, and no court has found these claims to be true in the more than two and a half years since the 2020 election, despite the efforts of such luminaries as Trump’s hand-picked counsel and experienced former U.S. Attorney Rudy Guliani and experienced trial attorney Sidney Powell and others. **Furthermore, even if such fraud did occur, the fact that it occurred on Trump’s watch and that he did nothing to effectively prevent it is certainly not an argument in favor of nominating Trump again. ** In fact, the best way of testing the viability of the voting system going forward is not doubling down on losing by nominating someone who has never won a popular vote, and has very high unfavorable despite the fact that he is universally known and was President for 4 years but by nominating someone who has won 5 straight popular votes, i.e. Ron DeSantis, who won 3 elections for the U.S. House and 2 elections for governor of Florida, and because he is not now universally known has a greater chance to grow support.
