I am all for getting rid of electronic voting machines but I think that is a lesser priority than getting rid of universal no-excuse mail in voting and, with the exception of valid excuses for absentee voting, require one-day in-person voting by all voters. The experience has been that machine voting and mail-in voting has not facilitated the counting. So, why not vote in person on election day and, even if it genuinely takes more than a day to count the votes, in many cases we would still have quicker results than we do today with machine and mail-in voting.

Here is what I would do if I was Ron DeSantis to remove this Dominion voting machine albatross from around his neck.

Mike Lindell is coming out with a recommendation for a paper based system next month. DeSantis should have his people check it out, if it is good - then immediately implement it in Florida.

      This would do 3 things:

      • fix the election system in Florida which despite DeSantis recent win is broken and open to abuse.
      • address an issue he has with people like me, who no matter how much we like DeSsntis, cannot get past the fact he has allowed Florida to continue using voting machines and associated technology.
      • neutralize Mike Lindell’s campaign against DeSantis. Hard for Lindell to continue if Florida has led the way in adopting his paper based system.

There is no downside for DeSantis in going this, it is all upside and would definitely help him in both the primary and the general.
