They covered a real story of the tottering, old President and Presidential candidate looking for a chair that didn’t exist on the stage and looking about raedy to fall over.

      It’s news.

The guy is 81 years old.

More mainstream sources are coverign this - like the Journal. ^^

Would you like to talk about his age?

Video of Joe Biden at D-Day ceremony is deceptively edited

Critics of Joe Biden are claiming a video shows him trying to sit down when there was no chair behind him during a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of D-Day. But the clip shared online is cut short to omit ensuing footage that proves there was a seat beneath the US president.

The moment in question came shortly before US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke at an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, when tens of thousands of Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in northern France to fight Nazi Germany in what became a turning point in World War II.

Full livestream footage of the ceremony from The Times, a British newspaper, shows Biden started to sit as the music stopped, then paused to wait for Austin’s introduction (archived here).

He fully sat down as Austin’s name was called, along with the first lady and French president. The clip shared online is edited to leave out the part where Biden eventually took his seat.

I know what you mean but this was a website that immediately linked to the raw footage of Biden looking questionable at the commemoration of D-Day ceremony, and so it’s relevant.

I am trying to de-stigmatize bad news sources - not because they always deserve it, but because mainstream news is very unreliable on very important topics, like Gaza.

Fair points. But posting a massive misinformation spreader is not helping anything. In fact, it delegitimizes the concern making it harder for folks to pay attention to the important point that both candidates are way too old. We can do better.

Should have just posted the Gimlet link, that’s reasonable. OAN is impossible to take seriously.

It is real - some people are saying it’s fake. It doesn’t include the part where Biden sits down, but it definitely shows him tentatively moving about, unsure of himself, while standing in front of a chair.

      I’ve seen the full version.

        You’re an idiot.

He starts to sit down, realizes nobody else is sitting yet, waits (a little awkwardly in a half sit position), and then sits down with everyone else.

You seem pretty mad. I’d calm down. It isn’t a good look. You know what it said - those who show such anger towards those around them are in danger of entering hell. In Buddhism, you would say they are already in hell.

How would you feel about this after combining it with the general, public knowledge that Biden is in cognitive decline?

Or are you very committed to keeping zionist Genocide Joe in office to keep shaking Netanyahoo’s hand while he murders Palestinian kids? Is that something you care about?

While there are totally legitimate reasons to criticize Biden, we’re upset at your unwillingness to simply admit when you got fooled by propaganda. People need to be more critical of what they see in this era, particularly when information is presented by the RNC.

When people swallow this kind of thing uncritically it degrades the quality of discourse and undermines the legitimate criticisms that exist.

Honestly, I think he looked decrepit and senile in the footage, and I also believed it looked like he was sleepy in other Tweet vids (as was also referenced in the headline).

I gladly accept the criticism, though, since you acknowledge my complaints and I think you think I was fooled in good faith (though I still don’t think I’ve been fooled)… So, we can agree to disagree here.

Thanks for keeping it civil! +1
