  • This. When a lot of people go on their one yearly 5 day vacation they’re dropping 5 grand on first class flights, nice resorts, high end activities, fancy dining, etc. Which makes sense if that’s your only holiday.

… That’s very different then what I’m doing when I’m in a place for 2 months and people can’t seem to wrap their head around that. No really Linda, I’m mostly cooking at home. But to them they’re like “well then what’s the point?”.

  • This is very last minute to book a whole month. You’re taking about a sun destination in the middle of winter. Remember if even one day is booked, a place will show unavailable, so if you wanna get a month you really need to do it well in advance. Of course anything cheap and decent books up early.

You can try splitting into 2 x 2 week stays or 1 week stays nearby each other. Bit of a pain of course but it’ll give you more options.

  • Digital nomad isn’t a career so it doesn’t have a normal range.

There are people out there doing the most minimal freelance they can, just enough to get by in a low cost area.

There are people making average money who are either blowing it all or living somewhere cheap so they can save it all.

There are people making bank in corporate jobs or in freelance/owning a business that have done extremely well living across all ranges.

I know people living on $700 a month and others pulling $17,000 a month.
