Looking at Las Palmas in January. All above $1500.
This was the same in Bangkok last year, good locations where all like $1500.
I’m not really sure if nomading can be done anymore without staying hostels?
Back to being an expat and signing 12 month contracts I guess. Or maybe you can take over leases from other people?
They’re definitely harder to come by. The price & quality in 2021 was insaneeeee. 10 bedroom mansion for $10k a month. 3 bedroom house for $1,500. Good condos with amenities in great locations for $400 a month.
There are plenty of cheaper locations and units. I rented a spacious 1-bedroom right off the central square in Tbilisi for $735 for a month. And locals were appalled by how much I overpaid.
nope. you just have to go at the right time and negotiate. i’ve rented a beautiful one bedroom a couple blocks from the sea with a huge terrace and amazing kitchen for sub $600/month for this winter in greece. booked it last week.
I lived and currently work in holiday rental in the Canarian Islands, the winter season is a very touristy season here. Tbh it is almost all year round but May/June/September are usually the cheapest. Anyway the Canarian Islands are not a good reference, it is reputed to be one of the place in Europe to have the highest rent cost compared to income. Even for long term rental (year or more) it is hard to find anything under 700/800€ without local contacts.
Zero chance 1500 for Bangkok I saw some for 400 or 500.
Bogota, CO $400-$800 Easily
$400 for a decent apartment is very tough these days in Bogota. I would learn more towards $800-$1000 if you want a one bedroom in a nice neighborhood.
Plenty of nice apartments in the 400-500 range (or less)
I just spent a month in the South of France for $1000, will spend another month in Tirana next year for $800. Both from Airbnb. It’s definitely doable.
My guess is you want high end places in very specific parts of town. Yeah you’ll pay more… Doesn’t mean $1500 rentals are over.
I can agree most places have doubled in price on Airbnb, I even contacted come host that I stayed with a few months ago for $27/night now they are listing for $68/night. It’s better to rent here which I’m considering but all the units pretty much look the same with that weird glass sliding door
1500/month in Bangkok? You can stay in real hotels for under $30/day there.
Or you’re looking to stay in a highrise with a rooftop pool in Sukhimvit?
I don’t see many nice hotels for under $30 a night can you name 1 for reference please
Or you’re looking to stay in a highrise with a rooftop pool in Sukhumvit?
Don’t care about highrise, but I want to stay close to the parks, which is also the most expensive areas.
Look up near Saphan Kwai and Lat prao. Near parks and cheaper
Next time I could definitely do that. Not all that cheap though, but cheaper for sure.
I’ve found that you have to book MONTHS out now to get those kinds of prices.
I want to say before the pandemic I could book 2 months out and find affordable options, but now I have to book at least 3 or 4 months out (which kills the spontaneity of my travels a bit) or I’m stuck paying a ton of money for trash places with greedy hosts.
This is very last minute to book a whole month. You’re taking about a sun destination in the middle of winter. Remember if even one day is booked, a place will show unavailable, so if you wanna get a month you really need to do it well in advance. Of course anything cheap and decent books up early.
You can try splitting into 2 x 2 week stays or 1 week stays nearby each other. Bit of a pain of course but it’ll give you more options.
For Thailand, check out this website called Renthub. Granted, I’m in Chiang Mai but I was able to pull a last minute month rental of a 1B/1Ba for about 400$
If you just go and visit Residences for a day, you could’ve had a really nice one for 250/350.
That’s how I secured a condo in CNX last year with balcony, walk in closet and insane views.
Thats crazy cheap. We paying $750+ out here in shitty areas in South America and Mexico lol.
If your paying 1.5k in Bangkok you’re getting scammed. Don’t use airbnb. Local sites you can find places for 250 bucks plus utilities.
