My experience with him is unusual since the only thing I read of his works was his treatise on writing, a sort of memoir in which he recounts his experience with writing and work ethic.
It has to do with the domestic aspect of Hezbollah’s politics which the Lebanese cannot stand. They allegedly assassinated the Prime Minister (a neo-liberal billionaire, so that was cool) in 2005 and other liberal political figures. And in 2008 they were involved in a one-sided, mini civil war with other communities. And of course, the elephant in the room, it is blamed for acting as a proxy to Iran and that the latter is “colonizing us” which I don’t think they comprehend how big of an insult this statement is to the rest of the third world.
I don’t understand this country really. They seem so ingrained in the resistance axis, yet there’s so much liberal, pro-western brainrot!
I’ve been using their service for two years now. It’s open source and encrypted, and the upload speeds exponentially improved.
26·17 days agoThe Lebanese military is extremely underfunded, hence the indispensability of Hezbollah. Before Hezbollah became a thing it was Palestinian guerilla fighters who took that role.
Their government is dealing with its own domestic shit. They haven’t had a president since early last year.
