The job of a GM (in terms of drafting) is to maximize the draft capital you have, and then leverage it into quality players at high value positions via either trades or drafting players. There is no position of higher leverage than QB, Fields clearly had a 1st Rd grade, AND we needed a QB.

That said, I would’ve taken Sewell to anchor the line, as OT is also a high value position.

There is no universe, including one where Pitts has consistently played at Hall of Fame levels since draft day, where taking a TE at #4 is a logical choice for building a franchise. If you don’t understand why no other club has done that, then you do not understand positional valuation. Don’t feel bad, though, because clearly our GM doesn’t either.
