Reid Duke and Ken Takahama playing Round 8 Game 2 is a really great game to watch. It starts at around 1:24 of the Day 2 stream, with Ken up 1-0. Ken is playing a crazy strong BR rats deck with a lot of good removal and Reid is playing a UG splash B ramp deck with a lot of [[Hamlet Glutton]] and [[Up the Beanstalk]] spells.
Match 6 coverage of Gab Nassif vs. Anthony Lee is awesome! Starts at around 6:30 in the stream I think.
A disappointing end to the Edel/Takahashi match, good show though.
Ken Takahama’s Day 2 draft deck is just insane. This is what I aspire to play and never come close:
FYI the standings are on Melee for some reason: https://melee.gg/Hub/View/115
6ish unique decks in the top 8!
Hype! I love full weekend paper events and Worlds the most, so great to have on the TV all weekend.
Always rooting for Reid Duke and my favorite players from way back, Gabriel Nassif and Kai Budde.
Lorenzo Terlizzi kept a 1 land hand O_O Playing Esper Midrange. I don’t know if that’s nerves or what but that cannot ever be the right play.
Oh it would have been a mull to 5 otherwise. That’s definitely less clear.
Oof that’s a tough one… mull to 5 is rough, they probably figured they’d have a better chance to draw those lands, especially if the curve was good.
