There has been a shoot out between police and someone in Clarkson starting at 12 today (Wed 13 sept).
Please post any information if you have it. My partner is in the area and unable to leave. Estimates are that this will continue and the roads may be blocked west of the freeway as you head home.

Significant police resources have been sent to Clarkson
They’re not kidding, they sent the tactical response unit and what looks like every cop in Perth.

“We had a large number of police resources deployed to the area to to investigate … [but] there was no evidence to indicate that an actual firearm was discharged in the area.” Acting inspector Les Andrews
People in the area are not convinced
Unsubstantiated reports of the gunman shooting at police at 2.40 - around ten shots fired. Unclear if the police shot back. Gunman has not been detained at this time.
Apparently the police are going to give a statement soon. Could someone link to it if they find a stream?
Reports from those in the area at the time, have police reacting to the second sounds with urgency and remained in a state of alert for two hours.
Current pet theory is that the cops couldn’t find the source of the shots. So the media are playing it up as a car backfiring to smother the embracement
Parents are being escorted to classes at clarkson primary one at a time to pick up their children, as police clear the area.
