Nah. They just want to cut funding, not cut it completely. They need the dumb kids to grow up to be dumb workers and dumb voters. And to keep their own children in private schools to continue to rule over the poors.
You must live in a state where charter schools aren’t part of normal political discourse. It is happening, and it is what they’re striving for. They want the private schools, yes, but the mostly want unregulated for-profit religious charter schools where there is no oversight in what kids are taught (or if they’re taught)
Nope. They want that federal money to go to their charter schools.
It’s never about turning off the government tap, it’s always to usurp control, undermine the original purpose, install themselves, and the profit motive, in the middle, as the primary benefactor and hijack all the money for themselves. Ever notice how all the rich say government is bad, but how those same rich stab each other in the back for those contracts? Learn that lesson. You want stability? Work for government.
Charter schools are just private equity alternative schools. Fewer staff, all of which not as well trained, half rotted food the prison wouldn’t even take (jails routinely serve rotten food. Look it up. Destroy the DOC), students learn less, do worse and are passed anyways. If you can find a charter school that hasn’t been busted lying about their enrollment, then you got a school less than 5 years old and about 3 more years away from folding, due to being busted. For lying about numbers.
Which is theft of the public trust and should be met with immediate revocation of corporate charter, a ban on the entity, cSuite and board members from ever having a corporate charter again, or serving on the board or cSuite of one and then personally ALL of them held liable for 10x damages.
It’s written in the Bible that those who betray their brother (countryman) for their own gain are definition evil.
We’ve known how to describe these people for millenia. Call them out.

Ah, but cutting it completely means they could potentially go back to child labour, and they’ve already been trying to set the ground work for it
