    Because the numbers are upside down, if you flip the ruler over so you can read it, you can measure from thatb same side.

    But I agree, it’s a bit weird, I’d prefer both zeros on the same side

      I’m not sure you see what I am talking about. The ruler starts at 8 for the inch side. It clearly shows all 4 sides in the image. The more I look at it, though, I am suspecting that it isn’t a real ruler but a piece of paper that was cut with scissors.

        Oh I didn’t see that, good point. You might be right about the cut paper, but maybe it’s folded instead? Look at the bottom left corner, the paper extends below the printed line, almost like it printed crooked? But I think more likely it’s folded and that’s the backside of the other half of the ruler? Like, is so low resolution that we can’t tell it’s a loop of paper there, maybe.

      If both sides were the same scale, flipping makes sense. But with two different scales… no sense is made.
