    It’s like we’re flying towards a brick wall, and corporations and republicans want to put their foot on the gas, because the faster we go the more money they make… until impact of course

      Many of them are dominionists who actively want the world to end so Jesus will come back. These people will kill us all for their fairy tales.

        Ironically, Christians are commanded in the bible to be good stewards of creation. Many apparently take that to mean destroyers of creation.

        man reminds me of this guy in a big suv being interviewed and saying how god wants us to use all the oil before jesus comes back. thats why he put it there.

        That’s true, but there are also many wealthy (aka greedy) people who figure, because they can afford to live anywhere, that the problems won’t affect them personally. Or, even if they recognize the problems will be inescapable, there’s the rush to just grab a little more before the everything comes unglued.

          That’s not so much a theory as much as it’s an explicit strategy that isn’t even being hidden. Look up the apocalypse plans from the tech bro billionaires. They don’t care about trying to stop it, they’re just trying to make as much money as possible so they’ll be in a better position, and they don’t care if they accelerate it while they do it.
