Grave of the Fireflies absolutely wrecked me for weeks
first anime to make me cry was utena. it’s continued to do so every subsequent rewatch. i’m just sobbing throughout the entire last episode every time
i’ve cried at a couple others (the turn a gundam finale, episode 24 of cowboy bebop etc.) but utena is something else
Fun fact: any even remotely sad anime will make you cry if you watch it while delirious from lack of sleep.
