my pc is wifi 6 capable and i have wifi 6 but my pc mostly connects to 2.4 sometimes 5 i also set preferred band to 6 and the wifi router is in the room closes to me no clue why its doing this

Wi-Fi 6 supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. You might have mixed the name and frequencies.
