The AI could be used to assist the said artists, it doesn’t have to completely replace it. Additionally, the AI needs instructions to function. What we have now is not complex enough to replace departments.
I mean, we already get plenty handcrafted soulless games anyway. The ones who actually care about the game they create would still put in the extra effort to make sure it’s not soulless after all.
