Mini-games can be often tedious and repetative but once in a while they can be really fun. Which games did it best?

I enjoyed hacking in the last Deus Ex Mankind Divided. It goes perfectly with the game’s theme. And I appreciate that you can buy power ups that help you. Although I was having too much fun to use them.

    Yakuza Series

The Witcher 3 is just a minigame to the real game of Gwent.

I really enjoyed the hunting in RDR2. I’d just rock up with pelts to the trader that would have me set for life.

Farcry 5 has a really fun and kind of relaxing fishing minigame.

Given how it takes place in rural Montana the outdoor aspect is done fairly well. A good set of headphones makes it all the more enjoyable.

The entire Yakuza / Like a Dragon series. I farmed and fished in Ishin for an insane amount of hours and have been doing real estate in Zero for days now.

Triple triad from Final Fantasy 8 is the best core mini-game in any game. Gwent from Witcher is great, but Triple Triad was just integrated so well and had so many variants and subtle rules.

Warframe has at least 3-4 lock picking styles, 2 fishing, and a mining system.

All are pretty decently done and varied. None are too frustrating but when you got a horde of enemies behind you it does get a lil stressful.

The sequel to Like a Dragon, has a full on clone of Animal Crossing in it. So I’m gonna say all of the RGG games.

Not on the same level but Cyberpunk has 3 or 4 fully working arcade cabinets now. Fallout 4 had five (?) arcade cartridges that were playable.

I liked the Bioshock 1 hacking minigame once I got the hang of it, though it gets a little repetetive over the game.

this was gonna be my answer. though the cabaret club using real people really made me uncomfortable in Like a Dragon Gaiden >.> fortunately only once was mandatory.

also I think it’s funny I can pin down the game more or less by the activities, especially Shogi (wasn’t introduced until LAD if I recall), the taxi driver from 5.

also speaking of 5, you left out hunting, as there is a hunting minigame for Saejima.

FFX had blitzball. I think I played blitzball more than I played the actual game, and I finished the actual game.

Blitzball was addictive! Character progression, player recruitment, even a bit of strategy and skill in playing the matches. Wakka’s celestial weapon was one of the few I actually completed, due to enjoying blitzball.
