All I can say is that Seagate Iron Wolf NAS Pro 12TB hard drive warranty was top notch. I thought it would be a pain to get it to replace it. Nope. All they asked was for the serial number, and for me to choose whether I wanted regular shipping or priority, or overnight. I opted for Overnight, and I just had it delivered by UPS. Overnight was $20.
Previously, dealing with hard drive warranties was a pain with other companies like Western Digital.
Anyone had a similar experience? Or was this just a fluke that it was easy to RMA and replace it?
That’s really the upside of the “NAS” drives, they usually come with a solid “no questions asked” warranty. That’s really all you’re paying for in some cases, especially for mechanical drives.
What issue did your hdd have? Did they just believe you and approved the rma? Or they had to run some test?
I only buy Seagate Iron Wolf drives for my Synology NAS for this reason!
