I think men vs. women parenting is the perfect analogy for how republican vs democrat is supposed to be. The women are the democrats, over-protective and wants to get to the bottom of everything. The men are carefree and let’s see how it works out with a dash of let the strong survive. Great parents are the ones who take the best from each and honor the reasons behind why they think that, regardless if they always agree or not.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a carefree Republican.

If you want the analogy to be correct, you need the men side of your story to actively sabotage the stairs or push the child to make them fall.

Or the women trying to add or repair hand rails to make them safer, and the men saying “No that won’t prevent falls.” And actively prevent any repairs.

Although I 100% agree with you, we have to have the goal of what we want, not what it is.

These are poor analogies based on gender and parental stereotypes that not only have no basis in reality but are so reductivist as to be insulting.

Absolutely, trying to check in with other side. I’m not saying it’s possible right now, we have a lot of authoritarian lovers in office. We can’t lose sight of what the original intent was though. We need to vote out the non-cooperators.

LMAO, I’m in a downvote collecting mood.

Edit: I should add, I’m really not trolling and truly believe that was how democracy was intended to work.
