The fact of the matter is that very few countries would want to risk a Western sanction. It’s one thing to say you want to save the lives of 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, but it’s another when you have 20-30 million population whose lives could be easily upended because you make a wrong move.

You can have your foreign reserves confiscated overnight, lose access to dollar transaction, lose access to fuel/food import, lose access to export market, all of which can easily destroy an entire economy (don’t look at Russia, it is an exception rather than the norm). Worse, you end up like Saddam or Gaddafi, with your entire country destroyed. Even worse still, you became the country that triggered a nuclear war from Israel.

Countries like Venezuela, Cuba and other countries under US sanctions are not having it easy, to say the least. Their economic situation is dire, and no country would want to make the mistake of ending up like them, no matter how righteous it is right now to intervene for the Palestinians.

This is simply the reality of US hegemony. You cannot touch them, especially if you’re a small country. Even for left-leaning governments, you keep your heads down and hope you don’t stir up trouble.

Nothing was more gangsta than Maduro doxxing CIA coupers with their US passports after stopping a coup attempt
