Cutting taxes is not “fiscal responsibility,” debt does not work the way they think it does, countries are not businesses, and Republicans have always been wrong on the economy.

People who are “fiscally conservative” are as ill-informed as communists.

Cutting ineffective taxes certainly is a smart fiscal move. Let’s take an example where fiscal responsibility will lead to a better outcome, Healthcare.

We all know the Healthcare industry is full of bloated expenses that function to reward insurance agencies. If we put in place a Universal Healthcare system it must be fiscally responsible to lower costs, end insurance companies from gaming the system, and provide the level of funding to support it while providing taxpayers with a stellar return on investment. If done correctly all Americans would see a vast reduction in Healthcare costs, better access to medical care, and the nation prospers for generations to come.

This would require raising taxes, and is absolutely a thing we should do, as the majority of Americans would take home around 10-13% more income, in addition to savings at point-of-sale. I’ve done the math using UK tax rates. Companies would also save money, as health insurance costs rise faster than wages.

Most people don’t realize this, because they don’t understand how much their health insurance costs their employer. This is not about efficiency, but rather addressing externalities and perverse incentives in the health care market as it stands.

Regardless, this is neither here nor there - non-pigouvian taxes in the US are generally extremely efficient and produce far more in real value than they cost in tax dollars.

Why Democrats aren’t blasting these two points out over every social media channel, always, is an institutional failure, imo.

Democrats are unable to sell anything. They are too intelligent to understand how to sell a good idea to someone below their education level.

Try selling your Healthcare ideas to your neighbors four year old. That is why Democrats can’t sell, they operate at too high of a level.
