  • I use zfs with Proxmox. I have it as a bind mount to Turnkey Fileserver (a default lxc template).

I access everything through NFS (via turnkey Fileserver). Even other VMs just get the NFS added to the fstab file. File transfers happen extremely fast VM to VM, even though it’s “network” storage.

This gives me the benefits of zfs, and NFS handles the “what if’s”, like what if two VMs access the same file at the same time. I don’t know exactly what NFS does in that case, but I haven’t run into any problems in the past 5+ years.

Another thing that comes to mind is you should make turnkey Fileserver a privileged container, so that file ownership is done through the default user (1000 if I remember correctly). Unprivileged uses wonky UIDs which requires some magic config which you can find in the docs. It works either way, but I chose the privileged route. Others will have different opinions.

This tub is on the kill block. I used it for AA and there are only a few shaves left in it. I need to make room for the tub of Sea Ice Lime that I got in the https://spearheadshaving.com giveaway.

What’s notable to me about Port-Au-Prince is that I started the month thinking it was a meh scent, and ended the month loving it. I never got sick of it, and even a month removed from the AA shenanigans I still find it a wonderful smell. I can see myself replacing it with some other vetiver scent eventually – maybe from Mike’s Natural?

    An “ironic” shave.

Lather - A soap organized by @enndeegee@sub.wetshaving.social and made by a soaper who was shunned by IRC. The soap was given to winners of the enndeegee “No Scrub” contest and also to organizers, judges, and other contributors to the Lather Games. Ironically absent is anyone from the IRC gang.

Aftershave - The favorite smell of u/cowzilla3, writer of many reviews. Reviewers have historically been chased off the sub by the IRC gang, including by myself back in my IRC days. People like velocipedic wrote lots of reviews, made a lot of revisions to the r/wetshaving wiki, etc., and were looked down upon by the IRC gang. Asking why there aren’t more reviews with a history like that is pretty laughable.

Frag - I got Jitterbug as a gift from Ben after helping him with a spreadsheet. I remember multiple times where the IRC bullies ganged up on Ben for talking too much about his creative process. I guess they were annoyed by that? They’ve ganged up on most of our outstanding members. J33p, DJ, and whoever else dared to publicly speak the truth about the IRC bullies got banned from IRC. A blessing in disguise. IRC has been in a battle against r/wetshaving for 2+ years now.

I’m listening to the new album by u/VisceralWatch as I’m typing this up. The album was sponsored by a soaper who is still active in the sub, along with someone else from r/wetshaving. The album is a result of a great collaboration, and winners were recently announced as part of the 5 year celebration by u/Ironbeard_SYS at spearheadshaving.com.

Adults have the ability make their own decisions about which websites they use. Children only have the ability to complain.

If you think r/wetshaving is in a lul, dying, or threatened by some other website with 9 monthly users, etc… get your head out of your ass. We’re not going to wait, so try and keep up.

    • Fragrance: Maher Olfactive - Madame Chouteau

Inspired by some talk on Discord about Hipster, and then seeing @djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social use a soap called “Hipster”, I decided to use Hipster. It’s a really nice scent that I never got more than a sample of, and now it’s discontinued.

I decided to use more of my Madame Chouteau sample, and despite remembering how strong and stanky it is, I did two sprays (sample sprays, mind you). Woof, this stuff is strong. Smoky and deep, it’s not for everyone. I like to describe it as being in a basement bar in Europe during WWII (like the scene in Inglourious Basterds).

I have to figure out if this razor is milder than my MMOC or if they’re the same. I can’t remember if I’ve ever done a side-by-side shave with them… surely I have?! I used to think they’re the same, but today it felt like maybe it’s milder? Either way, it was a good shave. Looking forward to my favorite GEM tomorrow – Bullet Tip/Flying Wing.
