  • I’d argue there’s a big difference between wishing someone to be killed, and witnessing them almost die and wishing the outcome had just been a bit different. Like, you don’t want it it happen in the first place, but have an opinion on the outcome if it did anyways.

He’s not saying “I wish someone would go out and kill Trump”, it’s “if a bullet was already flying towards Trump I wish it had hit him, especially instead of a random crowd member behind him”.

Same vibes as this video with Adam Savage. Apparently this piece of armour was a big mystery with tons of different drawings etc trying to place it as horse armour when Adam almost immediately correctly identifies it when first looking at it.

This is the power of diverse experience where experts can have a blind spot that’s easily solved by others that have a different perspective.

  • Those are pretty neat! I’m guessing the commenter who made the original statement was referring to countries so doubt this would invalidate their statement.

The country I see people saying that’s older is England, but with the monarch messes things up depending on definitions (the US constitution even mentions the king quite a few times so was England considered a democracy yet?).

It’s probably one of those things where the definition is loose enough that many different countries/organizations can claim to be the oldest and be right under whatever criteria they’ve decided
