  • Regarding the performance, I tried the demo on PS5 and it ran pretty well. I haven’t finished it yet but got about ~2 hours in and liked it a lot. The whole “monsters are called ‘humans’” thing was a bit on the nose but I don’t mind that much. There’s something about the art style of the game that I can’t quite describe; it almost feels like a watercolor painting but also cel-shaded? Either way it’s unique and the UI is pretty striking as well.

Like you I will shovel into my mouth whatever Persona/SMT slop they give me so I’ll probably get it when it comes out.

  • I remember years ago when I was getting into the game I found MTGO, and it was the most janky client I’ve ever played on. The way you bought cards was like, topping up an account with credits and then opening a trade with some random bot and trading for the cards. Then a friend was like “you can just play with any cards for free” and showed me Cockatrice lol. Same thing happened when a group of us wanted to play D&D during covid lockdown so we all got tabletop simulator, downloaded the rule book pdfs and played that way.

A friend of mine plays warhammer and just 3D prints all his miniatures because fuck paying hundreds of dollars for what is essentially like 50 unpainted army men.

  • For what it’s worth the new GPU is a decent upgrade and it will support that PSSR AI upscaling tech they’ve been working on. I still don’t think it’s worth it, especially if you already have a PS5 or a relatively modern PC. This seems more aimed at people who have an outdated PC and haven’t bought a current gen console yet.

The price is still nuts, though. I would be interested to see how well it sells because with everything being so damn expensive now I would imagine not many people are racing to spend $700 on a console (with only one game included lol).

  • I was watching a video from a channel whose content I really liked and he brought up this game, which led to him making a China/winnie the pooh joke and my eyes rolled back into my head. There were some comments that were pretty similar to what you see on this video. It’s such a bummer when I find an otherwise cool channel and then they say some stupid shit about China/USSR/socialism/whatever and I’m reminded “oh yeah this is still a thing.” Feels like the channels I can stand watching are dwindling by the day.

Semi-related: it’s hilarious reading threads on reddit about this game breaking all kinds of concurrent player records and seeing all the insane levels of cope from redditors regarding China. So far I’ve seen people claim the players are actually all Chinese bots, Chinese people are only buying it to spite the west because they’re nationalists, and there’s also quite a few people just bewildered to learn that Chinese people are allowed to play games at all. lmao

  • it really betrays how shallow these people’s understanding of geopolitics is that they are constantly making these stupid charts; constantly trying to convince themselves that the world is as simple as “this side good, that side bad” like some kind of marvel movie. And the worst part is they’re so smug about it. They post these in their communities and everyone nods along like haha yup this is freaking epic bacon sir

  • I swear in every video like this, these IOF bozos are always standing near windows or out in the open, just making themselves excellent targets. Remember that video where the resistance poked a camera out of a hole like ~6 feet away from a group of them just sitting in a circle talking to each other and they didn’t even notice? You can just tell they’re so far out of their depth. Clown ass army.
