YES!!! My husband (M37) and I (F40) met BECAUSE of games. We have played so many games together, most popular is World of Warcraft (and a couple of other MMOs), Heroes of the Storm, and we’ve played Snowrunner together too. We are always trying new games!
There are a ton of games that are fun for co-op. We have had a ton of fun playing Risk of Rain 2, the ones I mentioned above, Deep Rock Galactic is always fun.
I would say browse Steam, maybe try a new genre is the FPS games are bit much (I totally understand as a fellow 40 year old, my reflexes aren’t what they used to be and I get sniped by 12 year olds).
I have plenty of stories from ALL of these games. Just keep trying ones that look interesting to you, and you’ll find one you like. Hell, you may even find one that you like playing alone!
If you have any questions, you can always message me. I love talking about games!
ETA: We have been having a BLAST playing Baldur’s Gate 3 together. It also taught us a lot about how the other person thinks, so we can understand each other better. It’s a great game!
No, people are bad at paying attention. They get all wrapped up in the game, what comes next, what do I do now, etc, that they don’t stop and listen. They just have to go go go, and then complain that they don’t understand the story. Maybe take time and slow play instead of trying to beat everyone to the end. It’s more fun that way.
