Nah, shit holes is what they are adding. Tube stations aspire to be shit holes.

In some version of the myth they actually put an exit back to the living world up there. Sisyphus in life tried to cheat death (even succeeded for a bit) which is part of why he wound up in Tartarus. He could stop pushing the rock any time he wanted, but it would mean giving up on escape.
Is this the one with the vampires and werewolves?
This sounds a bit like spontaneous pathworking. Might be worth having a look into if you haven’t come across it before. It might help you better understand this and help you develop more intentionality and control.
More expected than impressive. They didn’t invent warped moral frameworks but they do buy from the market leader. The accusations aren’t to convince people to leave the other team, it’s to allow people to justify taking those actions themselves. Stochastic vote manipulation of you will.
Which just goes to show his lack of presidential authority. - magas (I expect.)
I suspect the large meat and dairy industry in major EU states would apply some pressure against this.
Cheese law alone is a major part of the EU.
Cut to a billionaire pushing orphans into the orphan crusher.
I’m doing my part.
Cut to individual in black block throwing a Molotov cocktail.
I’m doing my part.
The “This one neat trick big water won’t tell you about” to “the government can’t tell me not to dig my well next to my latrine” pipeline (aquaduct?) is real.
Can push California to 5 syllables if you really want to.
I’m also depressed though.
Most of the misconceptions I’ve heard (mostly from men) is of the nature of ‘so masculinity is toxic now?’ Folk don’t get that it isn’t general criticism of masculinity, just of certain constructions of it. Or that the toxic features are harmful to men to.
There is some level of wilful ignorance (which is in itself part of the toxicity), but in general all the social sciences have poor understanding among the general public. We get formally taught the basics of physical science from a young age, but are largely expected to pick up everything mental for ourselves until the mid-teens, if ever.
Maybe a bit cranky. Confusing social media interaction with actually interacting with people is a mistake. It is either extremely atomized (twitter), or painfully slow (lemmy, forums), or chaotic (public chat). These are also all public platforms, and public speech is under different influences to private discussion. There is more face to save, more to loose if you need to move off a position.
Thing is, I don’t think humanity has actually changed all that much, we just have a record of more people’s speech. What survives of the past is often just what someone thought worth preserving. Prosaic and uninteresting writing by ordinary folk was discarded. Prosaic and uninteresting writing by notables went unpublished and valued only by a collector. Now every kid’s first stumbling around philosophy is recorded for the world to see.
To answer your question, I regularly have such conversations, sometimes in text, or voice call, sometimes in person but almost always in private and real-time. As most conversations have always been. I am somewhat curious though, about when you think the decline happened?
Sure, the thing is, to extend the analogy, you are asking for there to be slightly smaller nuts. Nuts that for reasons imperceptible to the eye, won’t fit good bolts. Nuts for which a manufacturer would have to build new machines to make.
It given that you expect to import it via Ali express, it is no more ‘a just now’ solution than doing the job right.
Do you mean slightly oversized plugs to force into old usb sockets? I don’t know how you’d even supply chain that, being that the changes are probably within the tolerance envelope, or you are breaking the standard and that is far from a good idea. I also don’t think this is usually the problem. In my experience it has been less the socket getting stretched and more it getting packed up with dust so the clips don’t engage properly. Cleaning out the port tends to solve the problem.
If the port is actually mangled, better to do a proper fix on it. Because we stick to the standard the part cost is minimal so even if you are going to a tech you are mainly just paying labour and rent.
It’s a bit like paying the lottery I think, but for arseholes. You pay your fee and that gives you licence to dream. Some folk want to dream of having to want for nothing, others want to dream of being utter dicks.
I would like one of them to explain the worth of gold in their apocalypse scenarios though. I feel like that would be a fun conversation.
Probably better than just having their writing scraped and used without compensation. Not much better, mind.
I read a book recently (The Sparrow by Russell, good but harrowing) that referred to such programs as vultures, which was rather long-sighted given it was written in '96. Isn’t even about AI either.
The thing about serial killing is that it requires you to leave the house and meet new people, and frankly, that sounds like a lot of hassle I don’t need.
Nah, the Iberians just eat late.
Definitely worse. But I think the bigger problem is the amount of what a search engine returns being AI drivel that has been seo’d to fuck. Sometimes it feels like actively using an AI tool is the only option to ferret out a real answer in a timely fashion (which is also a problem.)
I have a horrible feeling that we are all to soon going to find ourselves with an internet that can only be reasonably interpreted through an AI intermediary like some kind of familiar spirit.
Good thing those can always be trusted right?
