Apple is releasing a more comprehensive password manager in the next few months, if she’s heavily in the apple ecosystem the switch could be pretty convenient

Obviously bitwarden or keepass would be great but this would be a bump up from being stored in a browser

Experience wise i’ve had a better time with mullvad at every corner when it comes to vpns than proton.

Protons still a respectable company i’d say but there focus is gonna become spread more thin while mullvads gonna continue providing a stable and simple experience.

Plus mullvads never gonna confuse you when it comes to pricing unlike proton, no extra time spent finding the difference between a monthly and annual subscription.

Did a fresh install of linux mint recently, because of that a good chunk of my software has been FOSS, however, when it comes to all the gaming related stuff I’ve installed (drivers, clients, etc.) its been a hit or miss with more proprietary software then i’d like.

Will say, I’ve struggled for a while to find a good open source music player for local files, I’d love some recommendations (currently trying Rhythmbox but I don’t feel I’ll love it)

  • Questions: What tactics could be used to move people en masse away from mainstream platforms

Keep letting large platforms run themselves into the ground. Has been working with twitter, each substantial change is causing more and more people to ask why in the hell do I wanna stay. Other then that just push those you know to use alternatives

I was able to easily convince friends to switch to firefox from chrome when they announced all those changes to their ad system

  • First big step I took was going through all my emails and deleting inactive accounts/making deletion requests. It was a major hassle but made me feel a lot more secure about my email and digital footprint. Plus built a real basic understanding about taking a more minimalist approach to the internet, suddenly I wasn’t getting emails every hour and random notifications, it was nice.

Other then that ublock origin and your password manager of choice that hopefully isn’t attached to the browser, oh and 2fa
