Right? Is the vomit emoji an ancient anti Semitic trope?
Ah, I forgot we were talking about vintage furniture. Bad paint sucks but people have got to get over this obsession with looking at wood. Color is fun and not every piece of wood is imbued with sacred beauty.
I need a link. I must see this natural great looking wood for myself, though I know it to be pine and spruce from a pallet
For technical boots (hiking, alpine, whatever) follow manufacturers instructions. There are compatibility issues between cement and leather care products that can make it impossible to repair if you’ve used certain products.
For traditionally constructed boots, I use a leather lotion or leather conditioner every so often, and generally don’t use wax polish. That’s partially because I’m not looking for a mirror shine, and partially because I have found that too much wax polish allows the leather to dry and crack, especially at the creases behind the toe box.
There’s a lot of information on the internet about how different tanning processes need to be treated differently and that’s true, but mostly unhelpful as it’s difficult to find out what exactly the leather in your shoes was tanned and finished with. If you value your sanity, don’t think too much about it.
Not a display piece, it’s going to live underneath my bench with the rest of the hammers and occasionally be used, when I have occasion to sink some 16d in one hit like Larry Haun
thanks! Wire wheeled all the rust and concrete, filed off various burrs, dents, etc, and even chased the milling on the face.
My usual tolerably-apolitical sword guy, Scholagladiatoria, has only a short video on the Jambiya and it’s mostly conjecture about usage, which is immediately countered by a few Yemenis in the comments. Not linking because it’s old and not that good, and I don’t want my least terrible sword guy getting dunked on here!
They are typically used by most Yemeni people, except those in the city of Aden where most of them have given up using it because it was banned during the rule of the Marxist government of south Yemen.
Lies and slander! (I actually have no idea)
There’s a sturgeon in that tank, no damn way am I getting in.
Ok as long as it doesn’t stick to the knife and make a mess
The precision ground clamp ended me

And here I am considering buying a framework because it’s cheaper than a new MacBook… it’s been a while since I bought one new either. Had a desktop for the last ten years and would have kept it running except I got a free used desktop, then got a cheap used MacBook and figured I’d get rid of the big boys. Now the MacBook battery and SSD are failing and it’s very difficult/expensive to fix (plus the RAM is soldered) so I’m considering the Framework as a more upgradable option.

But it’s so teensy!
Come up with a standard first, and then don’t really bother implementing it except when you feel like it.
I assume the balaclavas are to protect their identities as Israel’s surveillance is pervasive, but these videos give me the delightful fantasy that once you join Al Qassam you never take off your balaclava (except to swap it for a neatly tied keffiyeh). I want more people doing regular jobs in balaclava. A farmer in overalls, a train conductor, a firefighter. Everything in the Lego/duplo universe but with balaclava and the green headband.
When will Ian McCollum get one of these on Forgotten Weapons???
What does it mean that when I make coffee for me and my partner every day I’m a Maoist, but when she’s out of town I revert to my old anarchist ways, and yet also when we have guests I switch to a new, larger anarchist coffee device?
Yeah like all they had to do was wrap “democracy” in scare quotes
