He obviously cares about you very much and wants to be the best for you. You have already told him that he NEVER will be (like ever). Then you put the kiss of death on the relationship and told him your sex is “fine” (He heard “meh” or that you could “take it or leave it”). The reason he hasn’t touched you is that his pride and ego are decimated and he is trying to determine if he can move forward or not.

A lot of people would tell him he is insecure and to just get over it, however, his desire to be with the most sexually compatible person is just as important as you finding a good relationship person.

Did you do anything wrong? Objectively no. However, you have made a conscious choice to be with someone that you value for their relationship qualities with sub par sex. You didn’t lie to him (kudos), but this is all news to him. He wants that deep sexual connection that you will never have. Incidentally, I think this is how “cake eating” cheating happens in a marriage. You marry the “right” person… but then meet someone that you have crazy attraction to, sometime in the future.

The bell is “rung”, the deed is done. Give him the kindness of letting him know that breaking up is “fine”, if you two are not sexually compatible.
