Physical keys, physical buttons, physical currency
I will never budge on any of this

Remembering that time when a friend of mine invited a bunch of people over to burn the confederate flag for Independence day. Everyone was laughing and cheering when she did it, and then she did the same to the US flag and everyone got quiet.
Was incredible to watch a bunch of millenial/gen x folks suddenly become uncomfortable over what is essentially the same flag.
I’ve got Celiac’s, man so bread is out
I don’t like butter, meat, bread, or wine so that doesn’t leave me with much options in fr*nch “cuisine”
Just hit random and get a bunch of cool old sites like this https://rosydolly.neocities.org/
I don’t get nostalgia for many things but I do miss the Internet of '95-'01. Shit just felt so different back then. Message boards, interesting conversations with actual people, the feeling that the future was going to be good.
I didn’t have dental insurance until earlier this year and now I am finally able to go to the dentist after 20 years of neglect. Found out I have periodontal disease and my teeth will rot out if I don’t get them cleaned every 3-6 months. Also had 3 fillings, 2 deep gum cleanings, and need to get a root canal as well as my wisdom teeth removed, a broken tooth that has been causing a 6 year long abscess, braces, and probably gum grafts to replace the receding gums. I’ve had to chew on one side for years because of broken/bad teeth. My teeth are so bad I’ve never smiled in front of anyone since I was a child.
Wild that this shit is considered a luxury.
Where are the dudes that weigh more than like 180lbs

Morning stand up
Some co worker shows us an AI generated xmas card they made
It’s a picture of a bunch of white dudes standing around a computer wearing xmas sweaters
Another co-worker says you need to diversify the group
Co-worker generates another AI image that looks exactly the same but with like 2 women now
“Well at least it included women in the picture this time.”
Another co-worker chimes in “Did you just assume their gender ” and then some 2014 chud shit about being cancelled.
Everyone laughs
I remember why I don’t participate in any work activtives and keep to myself.
This is my life everytime I have to go into the office

Used to work at a coffee shop/retaurant that was busy and did good business, and the owner thought to themselves, “how can i make even more money off an already profitable business?” and decided to cut labor on our busiest days. So we went from having busy days that flowed smoothly, to a staff of like 2-3 of us having to make food, take orders, make drinks, run drinks, re stock, clean bathrooms, keep up with inventory, etc, which in turn caused quality to drop, lines to form, and people to leave. All of this so the owner could squeeze in an extra $100 a day. You couldn’t give them any feedback because “I have a business degree and you don’t”, so they brought in an “expert” that told them if they didn’t change their business model they would have to close down.
They kept cutting labor and demanding we keep the same quality and service. Shit didn’t work. I walked out mid shift. They closed down a few weeks later.
any place that serves food that doesn’t offer their employees a free meal should be burned to the ground

The area I live in is somewhat a typical college town minus the culture that comes with living in a mid size college town. Most people here are either transplants from smaller cities that think this is a big city, transplants from bigger cities that rave about the cost of living, thereby driving up the cost for the rest of us, or people that were born here and are stuck here because if you’re not in the military or a techbro government contractor, there are no opportunities.
I wish I could say the place was pretty, as some sort of saving grace, but most of the natural areas have been bulldozed to make way for “luxury” apartments starting at the “wow incredible cost of living” price of $1900 for 500sqft. All I can think of when I see rent prices nowadays is just not knowing that me working at a grocery store making $9hr and paying $325 for a 1br apt back in 2012 was as good as it was gonna get.
I don’t like where I live and have always felt like an outcast here. Made a few friends but all of them have since moved. I am kinda stuck here for the time being since I exhausted all of my employment options and finally gave in and became a techbro. Took some 6 months certification that didn’t prepare me in the slightest for anything I would end up doing, bullshitted my way into an interview, bullshitted my way through the interview, and pretended like I knew what I was doing. Here I am with a decent remote job with generic techbro coworkers that see me as an oddity because my employment background is mainly blue color physical labor/service industry, and yeah… Idk, it’s fine I guess. It isn’t exciting and I basically have to use chatgpt to explain to me how to do my job, but I guess I’ll get there. No real passion for this but it pays the bills, takes care of my partner and I. This city is a black hole though and I respect and envy those that are able to escape it
Say the line, Bart
brigading is when you post in a thread from a different instance that’s on your front page
Death to NATO, folks. Many people are saying it. Nasty, terrible organization.
