  • No. The election results are a blowout, larger than just this subcommunity.

I’m annoyed at Muslims for failing to back Harris and prevent the future atrocities. But I will not blame them. Trump got too many votes in general, and might even win the popular vote.

EDIT: We need a bigger reckoning than just blaming a minority of the minority. I don’t want to blame Harris either, she seemed to do the best that she was given but it always was long odds given that she’s a Half-Indian Half-Black Woman. (Racism from Whites, Racism from Indians for being a race-traitor, and then sexism from everyone including minorities).

But this is a bigger election loss than “just” a minority failing to show up to vote. We lost the Senate, Presidency, and probably the House.

EDIT: Kamala needed to win PA, WI, and MI. She literally lost all three of them. A large outspoken minority of just one State (MI) is not to blame for the PA or WI losses.

Trump could do it because he’s a fascist - he wants to discard democracy. A healthy system would have checked him not just then, but barred him from running again. We haven’t had a healthy system in a long time.

Trump himself isn’t fascist. Though he’s surrounded by them and I do fear them.

At a minimum, we need to discard useless language. “Fascist” failed to work in this election. Its been overused and/or the Republicans have built up mental defenses against it. It always was a bit of a stretch argument as the NeoNazi group is constantly berated even by Republicans.

The correct word is likely Authoritarian Social Darwinists (which is close to fascism in many important ways, including racism, superiority, smugness, purity of gene pools, etc. etc.). But I’m thinking its time we discarded “Fascist” and seriously moved forward and try to advance our linguistic political tools.

  • Too late to prevent now.

Democrats refusing to give power now will forever destroy Democracy. The only hope we have is to give power to Trump and hope he doesn’t break it too much.

As others noted: it’s a one sided risk. Trump doesn’t care about the future of Democracy. Democrats do care.

I expect that most Republicans, despite voting for Trump stupidly, also care about Democracy.

We have likely lost not only the electoral college vote this time around, but even the Popular Vote. It’s a blowout. There’s no excuses on a Democracy perspective.

I am a major Ukraine supporter. I was for Harris and everything. But now I’m worried about far more local issues. This is a resounding defeat of my trust of my fellow Americans, my coworkers, etc etc.

But we are not the ones in power. The election was a blowout in the wrong direction. Even if Jack Smith arrests Trump tomorrow what is that supposed to accomplish??

Egos as big as Elon, Trump, RFK Jr. and others cannot work together for long.

The infighting will absolutely happen. The reigns of power only allow one grifter to be king above all others.

The Republican Party now needs to reward Crypto, Tech, Military-Industrial complex, Trump’s teams, Religious vote and more. It’s easier to keep unified before you have power, but inevitably now that the Democrats are defeated… Their egotistical selves are setting their eyes onto their next prizes.

They will be satisfied with various positions of power for a few months at best. RFK Jr. Really doesn’t want to run the CDC, Musk doesn’t want to make the bureaucracy efficient. They will grow bored of their positions.

  • Youth vote leaned into Trump. It’s an across the board / demographics loss for Democrats.

You can’t blame this on the boomers. It wasn’t much leaning but Trump gained support here.

You need to just fully recognize that your brand of politics is falling apart and we need real answers in the next 4 years. It’s going to be even harder after the grifters have even more megaphones drowning out the truth

    More than that.

Half Indian and half black will be seen as a race traitor to Indian nationalists.

The way Democrats look at racism is fucking stupid and ignorant. You need to learn how minorities look at racism to understand.

Democrats are good for minorities and all KumBaYa and whatever. But minorities aren’t like that and have based instincts as well. (Hint: minorities are also racist fucks)

Kamala did what she could and she was our best chance given the circumstances. I have no blame to anyone over this (Biden almost certainly would have lost, especially with the Garbage gaffs and other mistakes Biden has done).

Kamala hasn’t lost yet mind you. But it’s really not looking good. There can be an epic level of mail in votes or something that changes the numbers. But it’s long odds as of now.

  • Philadelphia County is the big one for me.

Biden was 81% of that vote, but Harris is only 78% right now (obviously will change as more votes come in). If Harris is losing vs Biden in the most important county and with a -4% statewide deficit and 80%+ counted it’s really not good.

I’m not sure where the votes can come from to get Harris PA. It’s still too close to call but vs 2020 everything is worse.

Harris needs to tie or outperform Biden. She can’t be behind. The blue shift is going to be far weaker this year in PA.

3% doesn’t sound like a lot, but that’s +5% to Trump over 700k voters (or so) for Philadelphia County. Do the math.

Biden beat Trump only by 80k votes in PA in 2020.

  • With NC Called for Trump tonight, its time for us all to take a rest and sleep. NC was the early decision point. We all expected it to go Trump, but if it went Kamala then Trump basically lost.

Now that Trump is confirmed to win NC, its a long road until PA is called. And Kamala needs to win PA, MI, and WI all together. No point stressing about it now, just sleep and you’ll know tomorrow morning for two of those three. And wait until Friday before PA is called (or later, if its really really close).

Staying up a bit longer to see how AZ goes is interesting but likely not too important anymore.

  • Republican counties, with their fewer number of citizens, always report first. Rural areas are easier to count. Democrat counties, which tend to be urban, have far larger numbers and report later.

The trend doesn’t matter on election day. Republicans always get the first wave, then Democrats catch up later. The question is how many urban areas are remaining in each state?

Answer: Lots for VA and NC. That’s why AP hasn’t called. Ignore the websites or newspapers that try to give you truth before the urban centers (with massive populations) dramatically shift the vote around.
