Sorry, I wasn’t trying to create polemic. I’m well aware that for most of history democratic voting wasn’t a thing.
Just wanted to add a bit of context, yes, by population city opinion is more important NOW, but until very recently, considering strictly population, it was not, and the current political tensions are in part caused by this change.

The problem with Paul is that people see “Law Paul” and ignore “Grace Paul”.
When Paul talks about law and rules he means for people to look into themselves and see their own failings, not unlike John the Baptist, and see their own need of Jesus’ grace, not to condemn other people.
He even declares himself as the worst of sinners.
And he also shares Jesus’ view that the law should be interpreted as to protect people.
And it’s not even pro-wealth, at most it’s “maybe He meant it’s just very very hard instead of impossible”. And then pretend it can be ignored.
Tangential to your post, it was bizarre seeing the rabidly anti-“left” politicians of my state (in Brazil) loudly praising the local culture of cooperativism and proudly signing into law the recognition of it being part of the immaterial culture of the state.
Just file it under “humor/comedy”

Well, Torvalds said he always names his projects after himself.
With the return of democracy, the Supreme Court was overbuilt (overpowered?) specially to counter abuses from the Presidency. It has it’s own host of problems, but so far has kept us from going the same part as the US.
Would be cool if they instead pushed it up into a cemetery orbit and in the future turned it into a museum.
Certainly, but in the context of democracies, the rural people were made very relevant, being the majority, but now are being pushed back into being irrelevant, and are angry about it.
