Omg a Revolt sequel! Please please please don’t fuck it up
Omg a Revolt sequel! Please please please don’t fuck it up
That does sound like a pretty good deal. The thing is, it used to be a fantastic deal. And judging by the way they are acquiring multi billion studios and IPs left and right it’s clear as daylight that they want to monopolize the market and keep the subscription model for a long time, which means the deal will get ever worse. So yeah, this pricing change was definitely expected.
Didn’t mean to diminish your experience, sorry.
I’ll bet you 10 bucks sony will screw them over.
To my knowledge, they already declared the nazi salute illegal in germany ( for good reason too ). Maybe they should ban this one too. And then maybrle the next evil symbol some other terrorist org might come up with. Slippery slope, no? Besides, the problem with creating a diplomatic incident out of some racist footballer’s gesture is that you’re legitimizing the terrorists, you’re telling them “yes your organization is relevant enough for us to notice and create a ruckus about it”.
Overreacting much? Are we really that sensitive that they have to summon the ambassador for every asshole that makes a rude gesture?
If it were a paid account yeah, it’d be extremely shitty. But seeing as it’s a free account, it’s their prerogative to try and get people to pay for the service. Besides, I don’t get this entitlement that spotify has to provide music for free. They’re a (admittedly greedy) middle-man that wants to get paid. If one wants free music and everything, well, time to self-host.
I think it had something to do with credit card fees
Edit: found this on reddit
Grey Markets are often done by credit card scammers which results into chargebacks by the credit institute resulting in processing fees for the producer of the game or even getting them cc banned.
Edit edit: it was Factorio - https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/05/g2a-confirms-stolen-game-key-sales-pays-40000-to-factorio-devs/
I wouldn’t. There was a dev ( I forget which game, but def indie ) that said the pirated keys from those dodgy sites actually ended up costing them money, and they would’ve been happier if people just pirated the game instead if they really didn’t want to pay for it.
And the gabelstapelfahrer mit der stapelgabler prahlt
Interesting. How do you guys feel about Bruttosozialprodukt?
For Romania it has to be this:

It even became something of a hymn for the 1989 revolution.
So it’s actually worse for the environment than mechanical recycling and not even as efficient? Should’ve figured it’s gonna be no good if it comes out of an Exxon mouthpiece
Well you lot ain’t going up there
I don’t think this will bury MS because they can easily market this to enterprise clients ( if they haven’t already ). Recall is a particularly useful tool for any employer that wants to keep track of everything employees do, especially in an age of WFH. They probably figured they can take the PR hit from users concerned about privacy and move on unaffected.
This whole lemmy tankie dev thing has been discussed ad nauseam here for the past year or so. Not sure what solutions you suggest, but if I were to filter my software by who’s an asshole dev and who’s not, that list will end up really short.
As far as the ml instance goes, I don’t agree that we should start defederating left and right with any and all undesirables, but to each their own. At least people now will be in the know, and it might take some weight off lemmy.world
Summary: Newspaper owned by american billionaire claims workers on the other continent should work harder.
I find it hilarious that they had to cherry pick some two-word sentences from those people to try and squeeze in the point, because otherwise their texts would’ve sounded more nuanced and we can’t have that in a hard-working society.
What is worrying though, is that europe’s share in the global market is shrinking, because at this point pretty much only they ( and to a lesser degree the US ) try to uphold somewhat higher ethical standards for the various industries. At this rate the world will be all abused workers and underwhelming products in just a couple decades.
For an article that size, it’s surprisingly light on actual numbers and facts. A lot of auto-show impressions, lots of “ooh look at that” and “ooh that feels nice”, even more he-said-she-saids, but no proper comparisons. It’s also pretty incoherent and it features A LOT of chinese praise, including whole paragraphs of praising tiktok ( in a friggin car article ). Yeah, I’m not gonna hold my breath that “western car makers are cooked” just based on what this guy wrote.
I love the speed with which laws get passed when it disproportionately affects rich people
Agreed. At this point seeing news of a new stargate show would instantly make me ask “what will they fuck up with this one?”. I’d rather not see it replicated (heh) in nowadays’ world of marvelized franchises and even continuing it would be meh, seeing as the scope and the stakes grew way too high even in the original shows. Basically I feel the show was a product of its time and taking it out would screw it up. Also streaming services should stop remaking every single IP and just come up with new original shows already.
Walter:
You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don’t wanna know about it, believe me.
The Dude:
Yeah, but Walter…
Walter:
Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o’clock this afternoon… with nail polish.
