Im ‘between’ jobs at the moment. opportunities for connecting through community projects is attractive right now.
Interesting - I will have a look at disroot.org. Im not immediately understanding them but thats probably because where I encounter it I try to read whats available in Spanish to start.
Is that https://keepass.info/ ?
Yeah I have some friends. Id like to make it easier for them. (With some recognition as well)
Yeah this was what I was thinking. Interested in what people have out there. I dont like reinventing the wheel - Id probably make it an irregular polygon
Useful I have some of this but not other bits. A bit morbid but Im interested in what the break glass mechanism would be.
Yeah . Im good with writing and try to keep things up to date ( try being the word)
Im also trying to template and standardise - Maybe need to think about a deployment process or something.
Not sure since I guess your target audience is people in New Zealand.
Err a minor error in the Survey. Your Internet connection speeds have a gap between 300 and 1gbps fibre and lack 5G as a mobile option.
I feel like i commented on this / something similar. But what about a free Nextcloud account / Nextcloud server with Maps and one of the many Location apps that use Nextcloud. Next tracks , Maps Geofavourites etc. that are available via Fdroid?
Feels like something that would integrate well with Nextcloud. I know there are some Nextcloud based Tracker apps. Have a look at Nextcloud Maps Geobookmarks from Fdroid.
There is a lot of work happening in thermal mass storage for industrial heat demand (currently most industrial processes use Natural Gas to supply heat) .
Almost all Data Centre activity could be priced relative to electricity price allowing dynamic scaling.
I think I got an answer here from someone else - Quoting - “I think FW here means “firmware”. And it should be after upgrading, rather than disabling. If you look at the actual procedure, it starts with “upgrade firmware to version v5.0.3, which fixes a bug that may cause the EAP to reboot abnormally during firmware upgrading and cause the device to brick”… There’s a disabling step, cliclientd stopcs
, but what is being disabled here is not the firewall, but certificate verification…”
Yeah the thing is I dont think the Eap-225 has a firewall
Annoyingly while #BBC has a #mastodon presence https://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/blog/2023-07-mastodon-distributed-decentralised-fediverse-activitypub it doesnt (yet) cover #bbcnews which i would have thought would have been a good starting point. There are already so many bots providing summaries and links to.#bbcnews.
I recently tried #rssparrot to add other #rss feeds from other news sites with some success.
Ah yes the infamous secure location - In the (empty) plant pot, under the car, in the wheelie bin (on bin day) - These are some of my favourite ‘secure locations’ our local delivery drivers have identified. - I prefer the post box on my walk.

Can I throw in that once you get your stride with Streetcomplete you’ll love Every Door where you can add Shops and features pretty easily. They really complement each other.
