All this rage can be solved with a bit of empathy, compassion, and help. A “hey, did you know you can do X?” does wonders, even if you have to repeat it a couple of times, as people need reinforcement to learn. All of these things are second nature to anyone who works with computers because we have practised them a lot, but to other people it’s just magic, and I think it’s unfair to get angry at someone for what they don’t know or never had the chance to learn.

Sounds to me like that’s a function provided by the hardware, in this case your keyboard, so as long as you didn’t actually disconnect the keyboard for it to lose power, it would stay. At least now, if it happens again, you know where to look.
