While I don’t dispute it, what’s the source of the confirmation that Player X is him?

With all due respect there’s very little setting your comment as a joke compared to the countless comments a day shitting on him with no sense of humour.

Or, alternatively, they’re professionals who:

• are all on an obscene amount of money,

• get on well with the subject of your ire,

• don’t resort to being a child.

But then that’s the extremes of our fanbase in a nutshell - throw your toys out the minute it looks like someone (on our team no less) isn’t universally hated.

It’s always interesting to see the narrative flip.

City grind out a result when they look off pace and it’s the sign of experienced champions. Arsenal grind out a result when they look off pace and it’s ‘bullshit luck’.

It should be a prerequisite that if you host the men’s World Cup, you should also be able to host the women’s without any concerns over them being treated as second-class citizens.

But there’s no money in that, so let’s arbitrarily stunt the progress of the women’s game.
