It isn’t realistic imo, I actually was doing some research on this perhaps I’ll make a post about it. However the only time players have been involved in a trade up for a QB in NFL history is twice. Jets did it to move up for Mark Sanchez, and Falcons did it to move up for Vick. Both also included draft picks still.

Teams value draft picks more than they value players when it comes to draft trades.

Bar is pretty low for Ridder, he didn’t turn the ball over at least. Obviously we could drastically improve at QB in the future hopefully. He has his overthrows and poor ball placement, made a few solid throws, offense ultimately not the reason we won this game. Average performance, Jets defense is good, could’ve been worse, but thankfully wasn’t, so kudos to that.

The poll options are awful so I won’t be using that. I don’t see Smith as the guy that’ll win us a Super Bowl based off his three years here. Ridder is a serviceable back up tier QB at best in my eyes and isn’t a long term option for the QB position. It’s hard to say at present what the play will be in the off season, but I would think and hope that they look for a new starter.

That’s true, although I did see that we switching our run blocking scheme from what was mostly zone blocking last season. Where this season I believe we’re down like 20% in zone blocking and an increase in gap blocking. Which I think likely contributes to some of our woes with the run at times.

I think our guys are best fit for zone blocking, but for whatever reason we seem to have added more gap blocking into the mix. Perhaps that best suits Bijan’s talents, who knows what the reasoning is, but I feel it’s part of the problem.

Trying to go another season with Ridder as the starter would be a fireable offense in itself. That said there’s zero way Smith could possibly stay here and feel safe running it back any QB on our roster.

Who could be QB is up in the air, we’ll see what happens if he Smith does stay in Atlanta next year.

It’s out of our control as fans, whatever happens is what happens. Just gotta sit back and roll with the punches when it comes to this team. Dooming about it or being overly optimistic won’t change whatever results we see on the field 🤷🏾‍♂️
