People have already correctly answered that in this community there are no stupid questions, you’re supposed to be able to ask anything without ridicule. But if you want to permit the general existence of stupid questions, here’s the definition I’ve always used.

A stupid question is one you can easily answer yourself.

As in, any question due to real lack of knowledge is not stupid, but if you can answer your own question just by thinking about it for a second, then it wasn’t necessary to ask and therefore "stupid”.

Be direct in communication when needed, otherwise just don’t.

Yeah that’s why I’m saying to vote down ballot. That will push back against the current trend more than either option for president.

The actions the democratic party has taken in the past few decades seem to be legitimizing the radicalization of the republican party that is inching the US towards a fascist state. You may be able to argue that’s not their intention, but that doesn’t change the results they’re achieving. Whether they keep the ratchet locked with desire or ineptitude doesn’t substantially change my argument.

Well the democrats seem to be either too weak or unwilling to release the lock on said ratchet, so take your pick. Either way we should still be trying to elect better people to the offices where we can actually make a difference.

Revolutions aren’t successful unless they have some ties to those in power. So we need some comrades in office before making plans like that.

You ever hear of the ratchet effect? It only works that way when the 2 controlling parties have similar goals.

That reasoning doesn’t explain the annexation of Crimea. Invading a neutral sovereign nation is a horrendous way to oppose a political alliance. With or without NATO, Putin would want to take control of Ukraine. Personally, I think that’s a bad thing and would like to stop it from happening. Also this invasion actually got Finland and Sweden to join NATO, so much for that cold water.

To address your edit with one of my own, Trump’s nationalistic focus on domestic policy is curtailing freedoms and vocally promoting hate. Not really what I’m looking for.
