I’ve predicted 2-0 to Spain, based on tournament form.
What could possibly go wrong?

We used to just call these “paper candidates”. All parties field them in seats where they don’t really have a chance.
I didn’t hear anything from the Lib Dems or Greens in my constituency, because they have no chance of winning. But I know they’re definitely real people.
How’s that worked out for them?
This idea that it’s purely a policy to keep them in power is laughable. They’ve literally just dropped to their lowest number of seats ever.
You can get ID for voting from your local council, and it’s free and simple to obtain.
They had plenty of time to get ID. Your local council can provide one for free too.
I don’t agree with the voter ID policy, but it’s not the fault of the government if you can’t be bothered to sort out ID or live under a rock and are unaware of the rule.
She never had much to begin with.
Successive governments since the 80s have failed on this, so it sounds good but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Green Party in “actually just another bunch of NIMBYs” shocker.
No, the reason these parties are on the rise is because a significant portion of the electorate feel ignored, and have done for a number of years. They might not actually support a lot of what these parties are promising, but people are using them as a vehicle for protest and to make themselves heard.
The reason these parties are doing well is a failure for the governments we’ve had across Europe to deal with the issues people care about.
Will Hamas agree to it? Probably not.
Reform will get more because they came third in the vote share.
The excuse being that Hunt had far too much involvement in the last 14 years and that’s exactly what the electorate doesn’t want.
“Everything I don’t like is fascist”.
He’s not a fascist. Seriously. Not even close. If real fascism ever made a return here, no one would be able to recognise it because they’ve spent years calling everything fascist.
The National Rally in France have all the hallmarks of fascism, with the rhetoric on immigration, their dirigiste economic plans etc, and Farage has recently criticised them openly and said they would be a disaster for France.
I’m going to have nightmares about a potential England v France final.
So that means he’s far right? 😂
He’s just a right-wing populist. The BNP, English Democrats, EDL etc are far-right.
Are people really still going with the “smeared for anti-semitism” line?
I don’t suspect Corbyn himself is anti-Semitic, but he sure had a lot of people he called “friends” who were. He also sat back and did nothing about abuse to Jewish colleagues in the Labour Party.
The idea that it was all a “smear campaign” is laughable.
“Far right”. Lol.
It’s not all that bizarre, and it’s more common amongst smaller and newer parties.
I know the Reform candidate for Ilford North through another forum, and he didn’t attend any hustings (because he wasn’t made aware of them), he didn’t attend the Ilford North count because he was helping out at Hornchurch and Upminster, and he didn’t upload his info to Reform’s site because he was too busy leafletting and doing his regular political job in the London Assembly.
