You think they care about the average American?
I’m giving up on Lemmy. Too many toxic users. Too many bad mods who fail to remove the toxicity. And toxicity seems to be part of the culture here, judging from how everyone acts like it’s normal. Also, why is everyone a programmer?
You think they care about the average American?
Maybe Harris and Biden want to start a war so they can benefit from a spike in approval just before the election.
Oh. He wants to hunt to the sheep. He wants to create them, let them loose, and then hunt them.
I was imagining the sheep would be his hunting companion, like he’s a modern day Paul Bunyan with a giant sheep instead of an ox.
The US never dropped a nuclear bomb on Germany. They saved that for the Japs.
Bosnia is mostly white.
And Muslim. I mentioned that.
Sure, you can argue that the United States is bombing the countries in this graphic to try to kill ethnic minorities
No. They aren’t minorities. There are more of them than there are white people.
You’re showing your Eurocentricism.
Yeah yeah. “People who call out racism are the real racists.” That’s the standard response of white people.
Everytime someone calls a white person racist, they get accused of being racist against white people. It doesn’t matter how clearly racist the white person is. (And that’s why non-white people are afraid to call out racism.)
I’ve known so many racist old guys just like Biden. If you don’t, you’re either young or you’re not American.
Also, I like how you assumed I’m not white.
“I don’t think you should call people racist just because they’re committing genocide. You don’t know them personally.”
White people care more about a white person being called racist than they do about genocide.
He’s an old white American. Assuming that he’s racist should be the default assumption until and unless he demonstrates that he’s not racist.
And he has not demonstrated that. He has gone out of his way to fund and supply a genocide of brown people, despite the electoral damage it’s doing to his party.
Occam’s fucking razor.
It doesn’t matter what I think. He’ll go down in history as a racist monster, and so will all of his defenders.
Not one white country (except a Muslim one).
Downvote all you want, you know I’m right.
He was born in 1942. He probably thinks white people are the world’s civilizing force, and the Palestinians are getting what they deserve for refusing to accept their white colonialist masters.
He probably thinks third-world countries “aren’t real countries”, but he has to pretend otherwise because of “political correctness”.
He probably thinks Israel isn’t bombing the Palestinians fast enough, and complains to Bibi that America could do it faster.
If he thought anything else, he would be unusual for his age.
I upvoted after reading the first couple sentences because I already know Biden is a racist.
I know Biden is a racist because there’s no way he’d do to any white people what he’s doing to the Palestinians.
The Palestinians will never, ever, ever get the kind of sympathy the Ukrainians are getting, because the Palestinians aren’t white.
Russian men are being inseminated in the military?
“When Beijing says that, on the one hand, that it wants peace, it wants to see an end to the conflict, but on the other hand is allowing its companies to take actions that are actually helping Putin continue the aggression, that doesn’t add up,” Blinken said at a media briefing.
“Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go call for a ceasefire in the Middle East while we continue to supply Israel with weapons.”
My family floated between working poor and middle class. My parents were divorced, and neither has a college degree. As is the case with many American families far from the Acela corridor, my mom’s yearly income determined if I would live in a house, apartment, or mobile home, if I would attend decent schools or the worst in town.
My family background is messy. But there was one constant: Many of my family members are proud construction workers and lifelong union members.
This woman’s story is a lot like my own. My dad was a construction worker and a proud union member. Neither of my parents went to college. (My dad didn’t even finish high school.) Work came and went, and there were times we lived in a house, times we lived in an apartment, and times we lived in a trailer. I changed school eight times.
And I’ve seen the way the Democrats lost people like my father (who became a Fox News-watching Trump fan).
A lot of it isn’t even about any specific policy. It’s a persistent feeling that the Democrats aren’t speaking to us. That they don’t care about us. That they look down on us. We don’t factor into their messaging anymore, and on a personal level, they think we’re dumb hicks.
But it’s not a new thing. I’m 20 years older than her, and I went through the same disillusionment she did.
I hope she joined her local Communist party.
Just keep in mind, this is anonymous hearsay by someone on Blinken’s team.
And even if it’s true, they wouldn’t have leaked it to the media without some kind of agenda.
“Is destroying art worse than destroying the whole planet???”
It’s a fair question.
Everyone cares so much about protecting this painting. Why don’t they care as much about protecting the planet? (And the painting isn’t even in any real danger. It’s behind glass.)
The vandalism is practically thought-provoking performance art in itself. It’s probably one of the best pieces in the gallery.
Good for them.
They’re getting media attention for their message. That isn’t easy to do.
Ghettoes were neighbourhood where Jews were forced to live in Nazi Europe, so I’d say that sounds worse.
The rally 'round the flag effect isn’t dependent on people agreeing with what the president is doing.
