GPs are not science, they are people. People make mistakes. They also have varying levels of education, mental health issues, personal problems, general human stuff.

This is what has worked for me but only really applies if you’re a certain kind of couple. Also kinda depends on how long you’re going for and which country/countries you’re visiting… Personally I think it’s easy to over plan and we both hate working to strict itineraries. Strip you plan back to bare bones, book any internal travel and a few hotels along the way but don’t book all your accommodation, so you can be flexible. Talk to locals and other travellers to get tips on what’s on and general local knowledge. Do your research so you have a priority list of things you’d like to do/see. Pin all this on Google maps. Make it an adventure rather than a sanitised trawl through tourist spots.

Once had to explain to an old lady (in full-time employment in a job that requires use of a computer) that the mouse moves around on the desk surface. She was trying to move the cursor by putting the mouse on the screen.

I’d heard so many good things about DE but the voice acting felt so jarring it really put me off. Words completely mispronounced (or maybe bad translation) in the intro and no sense of flow whatsoever.

Arguably anything man-made makes a view worse, but as far as man-made structures go they’re beautiful. And they give you a free wind gauge just by looking out the window. I’d rather see thousands of turbines on the horizon vs the glow of oil fields or plumes of smoke/steam.

I think they’re amazing. The chemistry of colored flame has fascinated me since I was young, and there’s nothing quite like being close to explosions. If I had more time and lived in the US I’d be a hobby pyrotechnician.

Have you tried the Lemon Tek for shrooms? In my limited experience it seems to help with the nausea.

Yeah I turn AI off on my phone and prefer to shoot RAW. It’s still a legit feature tho.

It’s not marketing fluff though, it’s AI processing, as in recognising what you’re taking a photo of and auto-applying shooting presets/filters. Fairly common these days with new phones.

BLARP! I suppose it’s a physics game but I’m not aware of anything else quite like it. It’s incredibly simple, addictive, and could only really exist as a VR game.

Volumetric video for sports is interesting because it offers VR users the option to ‘be there’, but the provider can also offer desktop/mobile users the option to control their own virtual camera. I can kinda see it taking off in a few years when more cheaper/lighter headsets with good passthrough arrive.

The main issue was plugins and external programs compatability. There are some really obscure plugins for advanced work in Indesign, like syncing with client spreadsheets for catalogue work, auto generating indexes/references, that kind of thing. Another problem with ID was working on a network with multiple users accessing the same file from different locations. With Photoshop it’s a similar story, we had a lot of actions and custom scripts that would’ve been a massive headache (or impossible) to port over manually. Personally I use a lot of scripts/actions using smart objects, auto selections etc for batch processing and the feature set in Affinity just isn’t (or at least wasn’t) up to it. These days I prefer Capture One over Lightroom for RAW processing but I still need to use LR when processing timelapse because the 3rd party plugins only exist for LR.

Capture One has a free 30 day trial IIRC. It’s great for doing this kind of thing, if you put caps lock on you can hit keys 1-5 to rate and it will auto advance.

Affinity is the closest but still a ways off being a viable replacement for ID or PS. Source: worked in a design studio, every few years we would try Affinity in an attempt to de-Adobe our workflows but it’s just not comparable.
