However the invasion and occupation of both Iraq and Afghanistan required the recruitment of a lot of locals who were able to translate for the occupational authorities. I view these posts sort of like the ones about various historical figures being from the Balkans / Turkish. The danger with Lebanon is that the country has a huge number of factions who all more or less hate the Shia parts of Lebanon more than they hate the Israelis.
