  • anything in tech. software engineer/developer is most common but anything for a software dev firm as long as it’s a remote company.

I was a QA engineer (manual and automation) and then got into business development for a software dev firm b/c i had a biz mgmt degree and communication skills and can talk to technical and non-technical folks.

Became a DN at 28 and from 22-28, was working for IT consulting firms & software dev firms (both big and small like start ups). You need to gain experience and seen as a high performer before any really trust you to work remotely.

For example, my company won’t hire junior engineers. You absolutely have to have some years under your belt b/c of nature of remote work

  • I do business development/marketing for a software dev first that’s 100% fully remote. My background is IT consulting with an emphasis on software testing/QA engineering/automation. I spent the bulk of my 20s in tech and only went fully remote at age 28 after having 5-6 years of real work experience. Otherwise, you’re too junior and they’ll say no to remote work.

The best bet is to spend some years developing work experience and getting yourself to mid-level/senior.

I am a nomad making 6+ figures. It works in less developed countries. I’m making ends meet living in places like Hawaii where $100k allows for affordable housing haha but it balances out.

  • I’m in tech and make six figures. I need to be productive so I like to spend a few months in one place.

Biz Dev for a tech company that’s almost like a foundation.

I can save in more affordable countries to be able to live in places that cost more so it offsets itself. I base myself in Hawaii and it’s expensive af here so if I can do it here, everywhere else is manageable
