  • Besides Biden being the incumbent, Republicans will never ask Trump to step down, no matter what. Dems on the other hand do not think of Biden as their god-emperor and the DNC is now beginning to worry (far too late) if Biden can actually win against Trump.

Notice that many of the stories you see about this refer to the debate but not if Biden can actually win or not. The debate is not what is causing Biden to lose dem votes. Any story that says the debate is the reason for this is probably misleading at best, because I doubt they mention that Trump was lying the entire debate.

There’s a few ways, but for example you can use a service like cloudflared which comes with its own certs (and then set up WAF rules to only allow your IP), or you could set something up using let’s encrypt via reverse proxy (for example, using Opnsense and the let’s encrypt plugin which actually validates domains that aren’t otherwise exposed to the internet, there by giving you full blown validated SSL).

If you don’t care about validation errors then you can use nginx reverse proxies (locally, not exposing any ports externally) and apply self-signed certs through the proxy regardless of whether or not the software allows SSL config.

Well, that’s up to the DNC. They could put almost any other prominent dem and they’d probably beat Trump. The DNC also has the ability to change the candidate after the election but before the electoral ballots are cast, at least as far as I understand their rules.

Trust, I understand your point. The primaries are over, and that’s where the different candidate should have been chosen. But unfortunately, the whole not knowing any viable alternatives line of thinking is what got the DNC into this mess in the first place.
