    A post like this is really making me wonder about the direction of this community. Not in a bad way. This is great content. I’ve been wondering for a while if I should expand the idea from “Offbeat News” to just general “Offbeat” things (news and other items). I need to formulate a mod post now lol.

    Assuming he was handing out the standard Madagascar currency to those kids, he was paying about 10 cents US per spider.

    I can’t seem to find prices on anything in Madagascar outside the major cities, but based on the city pricing, that’s probably equivalent to paying the kids a dollar or two each in local markets.

    That’s very cool, very interesting use of biomimicry.

    I wonder if that’s really the first time it’s ever happened or someone else figured it out, that would be so rad if an early human was plucking spider web strings that disintegrated 200,000 years ago
