According to users on #lemmy #reddit is now restoring users deleted and edited comments. We expected this but what I didn’t expect was to find an FAQ from Reddit stating that they cannot ever restore deleted comments.

Moderators probably really can’t restore stuff but admins can. They must have backups and are probably using an automation that’s restoring anything deleted or old comments that were recently edited.
They wouldn’t do that for a user since it’s work but they will absolutely do it to save “their” data.
