I mean I get the appeal, but it’s also a lot of needless pollution. Noise light and air pollution.
And fire danger. 🔥 there have been 31 calls and counting so far for outside fires, including brush/vegetation and residential fires on pulse point. Go take a look on the app it’s alarming…no pun intended
They’re also incredibly stressful - and sometimes fatal - to wild and domestic animals. They can also be traumatizing to people with PTSD.
They’re pretty, but dogs get scared of them and hide under beds and such and I feel bad for them. With that and pollution/danger, I’m thinking it might be better just to eat hot dogs in celebration instead.
This year I took care of my parent’s dog while they traveled. I put him in their bathroom with his bed, turned on the fan, and turned on Netflix on a TV right outside the bathroom.
He was totally calm and relaxed.
It even seemed to reduce his reaction to other fireworks that happened when he was with me in the living room.
Odd that the Beaverton is Canadian but you’re mentioning the 4th of July. That said I feel like fireworks cause more issues than they’re worth. People with PTSD and many pets that get scared. If they’re done in the country and away from homes I don’t have a problem with them though
The Beaverton is in fact Canadian. We are Beaverton Oregon, USA . And I’m awake right now from the noise pollution and incessant booms.
I’m sick of playing “gunshots or fireworks”, that game gets less fun every year.
The cars with the ar15 sounding exhaust modification make that game less fun as well. Mass shooter or car?
It does. I use it to cook food
Fireworks ahead? I sure hope it does
